At The Institute our tagline is “Repurposing Business–Transforming Society.” We like what it says, but doing it is not that simple. Why is that? Well, transformation, like flossing, is something more talked about than done. Yet it is something that we have a longing to be a part of in some way or another. Tansformation–the word is a but overused, especially in countries like South Africa. Elsewhere it is a more in vogue euphemism for “discipling nations.” So it stands to reason that we want to do it because we were commanded to be nation disciplers. How, where, when… how will we know when we have done it? These are some of the questions.
Jesus was not unfamiliar with these questions. In fact, his own marketing pre-launch guy, John the Baptizer, sent over some folks to see whether Jesus was the real deal. Jesus did not point to his process, his products, his people-growth strategies, but to his results. ‘Tell John, “The blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk…” That is transformation.
